Stephen,
Thanks for pointing out these issues with HTK V3.3.
The problem with compilation, and a number of other bugs, is dealt
with
in the alpha release of HTK V3.4 available from the HTK web-site at
http://htk.eng.cam.ac.uk/ftp/software/HTK-3.4-alpha.tar.gz
There are also sample files at
http://htk.eng.cam.ac.uk/ftp/software/HTK-samples-3.4-alpha.tar.gz
In the RMHTK section there are some scripts and configuration files for
discriminative training an RM system. I would recommend that people
change to using this "alpha" release rather than HTK V3.3. Note the
"alpha" refers to the new code (discriminative training and LVCSR
decoder)
We are currently looking to modify the linux instillation in a beta
release to resolve some of these inconsistencies (and include some of
the bugs reported for the alpha release).
I hope to get the beta release out in the next month or so.
Cheers
Mark Gales
