VoxForge
Hi
Can anyone help me with this problem?I have installed Julius on my LINUX machine. After downloading the acoustic model from the voxforge site I tried to test it using a microphone. When I am speaking after the prompt <<Please Speak>> no response is coming out. I have adjusted the microphone input level using the mixer and also adjusted the speech detection level.Everything is fine with other methods like MFCC files and rawfiles.
Thanks,
Siri.

Hi Siri,
Can you record audio using an audio editor like Audacity? Did you try the Mic Boost (in your mixer)? Does the Julius adinrec tool work for you (can you record any audio to a file)?
Which distro are you using? Are you using Gnome or KDE?
Which version of Julius/Julian are you using? Did you compile from source, or are you using one of the binaries from VoxForge or from the Julius site (if so, which one)?

Hi Siri,
Sorry, I should have been clearer.
We need to isolate the problem. The first step is to make sure your microphone works with your computer.
Creating a short recording with Audacity will help us confirm this. Please make a recording with Audacity, and let me know how you make out.
Next, if Audacity works, you need to test your microphone with the Julius adinrec tool. See if you can make a recording with this tool. If adinrec works, then Julius should work too.
