Large Grammar for Julius?

Can someone point me to a large grammar for Julius built from the training samples collected by VoxForge?

For some reason, the sample provided in the nightly build only includes some useless grammar for dialing phone numbers.

VoxForge has thousands of samples of speech=text, covering a wide range of grammar. Why isn't this being used to make something useful?

Language Model is not the same as a Grammar

You want a Julius/HTK language model.

CMU Sphinx uses language models and can also use grammars.

HTK/Julius with language model quickstart.

But if all you want is to recognize and execute commands, then try out the simple dialog manager in the VoxForge tutorial

What imformation am I supposed to take from that thread? It has two links, one with some fractured information on how to build your own language model, but not how to use it with Julius. And another link that's broken. The rest of the comments are reporting about the instructions resulting in errors.

So I guess this isn't supported by Julius?

Julius does support language models. Scan the sample jconf and you will see several references to the options that apply when handling LMs. Ken's reference tells you that no, there is no Voxforge tutorial for handling LMs, yet. However there may be help in other places.

Setting up all the pieces to get either grammars or LMs working correctly takes time and patience, especially when the help, as you have discovered, is thin. However it can be done, and many have found that gaining confidence by creating successful grammars sets the background for tackling LMs which bring their own problems which have to be worked through.
