Hi,

I imagine that this may be a very basic question but I have been searching (unsuccessfully for an answer for almost a week, perhaps I dont know where to look).

I am trying to create my own grammar for julius and have tried using the acoustic models in the ubuntu binary, the linux quickstart and the nightly build.  Here is an example of what I get:

Reading in dictionary...
line 28: triphone "k-iy+sp" not found
line 28: triphone "iy-sp+*" or biphone "iy-sp" not found
> 8    [MARQUIS]    m aa r k iy sp
////// Missing phones:
iy-sp+* or biphone iy-sp
k-iy+sp
//////////////////////
error in reading grammar/sample.dict: 1 words failed out of 28 words
ERROR: failed to read dictionary, terminated
Terminated

In this case the failed word is Marquis, the reason I decided to try that word is that it is in the dict file included with the nightly build (thus it should recognize?).

I would appreciate any help in understanding what is going on.

Thank you

Cam

This is something that should have been fixed a while back... basically, don't include the 'sp' phone in your grammar files.

See ticket #294 Nightly Build Pronunciation Dictionary includes "sp" phone for details
