I've successfully followed the instructions and installed Julian.

When I run it, all the output prints to the Terminal successfully and ended by

<<< please speak >>>

But, when I speak, nothing happens. No further output, no nothing. My mic is working properly as I open the sound preferences and see the input coming through.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using Windows or Linux?

What about Linux Ubuntu 10.04 ? I use a headphone with microphone too.

I tried to run Julius real-time on iMac Lion, and get the exaclty same problem using the built-in Mic. It works fine to recognize my recorded voice files using the Mic.
