Applet to Allow Users to Validate Submitted Speech

Users should be able to view a submisson on-line, and listen to audio to ensure that it matches the prompts, make corrections if necessary (to prompts, or minor audio edits), rate the submission (numeric rating, or make comments about quality ), and save their changes to the Subversion repository (for version management).

Might be a Java applet (modifying the current Speech Submission Java applet - which is based on MoodleSpeex), or some other language.

Something like LoudBlog might provide a start to such an application:

LoudBlog makes Mediablogging and Podcasting easy. There are a variety of ways to put your media content into the system. You can upload it via your browser, use a free FTP client like filezilla and get the files from the web! (Before you do that you have to ensure you have permission to publish them in your site!)

After that you can add lots of meta information e.g. a title, a short message, or a list of hyperlinks related to your media posting. You can even control the publishing time and put your postings into multiple categories. But you don't have to!

Loudblog doesn't offer any substantial advantage.

Hello Ken,

I have just tested Loudblog by installing it on my own Web server.  I don't see any substantial advantage for the VoxForge project by using this software.

Obviously, loudblog doesn't offer something like the VoxForge Speech Submission Java applet.  That means you aren't able to record your voice using loudblog.  Loudblog just enables you to upload files.  But for the uploading process (zip), you have already the attachment/browse function from the WebGUI.

Greetings, Ralf
